Fraser Island Tours
We offer full tourist information and tour booking facilities from our accredited tour desk on site, free of charge. This includes all tours operating in the area and Fraser Island, Whale Watching fishing to name a few, in most cases courtesy pickups are arranged for you and, in the event of the tour company cancelling due to weather - we can inform you, and quickly arrange an alternative so your day is not wasted, or alternatively an instant refund. We have complementary maps of the area, and Fraser Island (small fee). We can suggest a route if you're taking your own 4WD to Fraser and advise on conditions, permits and camping. Free storage of vehicles and campervans is available for all tours booked by our tour desk. For more information about any tours, see below.

There's any number of ways to get to Fraser Island without taking your own vehicle. We can also arrange accommodation on the Island. Most tours have a courtesy pick up for guests from the Happy Wanderer Village.
Fraser Explorer Tours
1 Day Tour. Departs Daily
Courtesy pick-up from Happy Wanderer 7.25AM. Tour departs from Riverheads to Wanggoolba Creek. See Central Station rainforest, Lake Birrabeen, Lake McKenzie, the coloured sands,75 mile beach, Eli Creek and the shipwreck Maheno. Buffet lunch included at Eurong beach resort. 2 Day Tour. Departs Daily
Courtesy pick-up from Happy Wanderer 7.25AM. As for the one day tour at a more leasurly pace, and also including Lake Wabby and the well known 'blue lake', the hammerstone sand blow, Lake McKenzie, Pile valley and Indian head. Overnight accommodation at Eurong Beach Resort on the ocean side of the Island. All meals included. Adult from $312, Child $212 Quad share or Adult $360 Child $260. twin share. Optional joy flight available. Return to Happy Wanderer Village approx 5.30PM
1 Day Premium Tour. Departs daily
With small numbers (max 20 people) this day out is personalised with a Courtesy pick-up from Happy Wanderer 7.35AM, taking you to Riverheads for the ferry crossing to Wanggoolba Creek. See Central Station rainforest, Lake Birrabeen, the coloured sands, 75 mile beach, Eli Creek and the shipwreck Maheno. Gourmet lunch with your choice of Steak of fish included at Eurong beach resort morning and afternoon also supplied. Adults $215 Children $195. Return to Happy Wanderer Village approx 5.30PM
Kingfisher Bay Resort and Village
Lake McKenzie Tour. Departs Daily.
This one you will have to get up early for. Departs at 6.10am. A nature walk round the lakes surrounding the resort, morning tea at the village bakery before boarding the tour bus taking you to Central Station, Pile Valley then across to Eurong and up the beach to Eli creek, Maheno ship wreck and the coloured sands. Back to Eurong Beach resort for lunch, After lunch, off the Lake McKenzie for a relax and swim then return to Kingfisher Bay. Back on the Mainland by 6.30pm. $185/$121.
2 day Lake McKenzie Tour. Departs Daily.
Again you will have to get up early. Visiting all the attractions of the one day tour above, you will stay at the Kingfisher Bay Resort that night, dining in the Maheno restaurant. The next day the adventure continues to stone tool sand blow viewing the remnants of a petrified rain forest, Lake Allom nestled in the heart of the rain forest, then continuing north to Indian head and the Champagne pools. Pick up at 6.10am transfer to King Fisher Bay where you will meet the Lake Mckenzie tour(above) for the day. Return to Kingfisher bay resort where you can enjoy all the resort facilities. Package includes Buffet dinner in the Maheno restaurant, Hotel Accommodation and buffet breakfast by the pool. Transfer back to the Happy Wanderer Village arriving approx 10am, 2.30pm or 5PM. 1 night 2days, $299/$299.
Day Away. Departs Daily.
Includes: Return catamaran cruise lunch and morning or afternoon tea, ranger guided walk. Departs River heads at 9.00am and 12.30 noon. Departs resort 2.00pm and 5.00pm. $65/$35.

Cool Dingo Fraser Island Tours
2 Day Departs Daily
Picks up at 7.45am, you catch the fastcat to Kingfisher bay from there you cover all of the attractions of the 1 day tour at a more leisurely pace including Indian Head and lake Mackenzie. All meals and accommodation included in wilderness lodges $325 quad share, $380 twin share includes all taxes Return 8.30pm from king fisher bay back at Happy Wanderer Village 9.30pm
3 Day Tour Departs Daily
Picks up at 7.45am, you catch the fastcat to Kingfisher bay from there you cover all of the attractions of the 1 day and the 2 day plus a trek into Lake Wabby over the dunes one way and back through the bush on your return, also visits Hammerstone sand blow and Lake Birrabeen. An optional joy flight from the beach is avaliable. All meals and accommodation included in wilderness lodges $405 quad share, $450 twin share includes all taxes Return 8.30pm from king fisher bay back at Happy Wanderer Village 9.30pm
Tasman Venture
West Coast tour Departs November to March
This is a great day out aboard the Tasman venture, at 20Metre fast catamaran. You will cruise in comfort at 26knots, licensed bar on board, morning tea, afternoon tea and Lunch all included in air conditioned lounge, you cruise up the remote west coast of Fraser Island, calling into Watumba creek, where canoes, snorkeling equipment and fishing rods are available. Continuing on to the most northern point of the Island, the sandy cape light house. There is an interpretive tour including a small museum $199/$145
4WD Hire
There is no roads on the Island, only sand tracks or the beach, therefore conventional vehicles cannot travel there. You can either take your own 4WD or hire one. Several hire companies operate locally and provide 4WD's at reasonable rates. Suzukis, Toyotas, and the old Land rover Troop carriers are very popular. Barges operate to the Island daily from River Heads to Wangoolba Creek and Kingfisher Bay and from the Marina to Moon Point.
Prices vary greatly for car hire depending on the size, duration of hire and season availability say $105 to $250 per day
you’ll need a $35.40 permit per vehicle to drive on the Island. Valid for 1 month.
A return barge ticket $140/car covers 4 people additional passengers $10.
Motor cycle $50 includes rider only.
Camping permit $4.50/person/day.

Hummer Tour
This is a tour with the personalised touch. Having a maximum of only 4 people you experience the Island in the most off road capable commercial vehicle available. Visiting the island’s diverse rainforests unique to Fraser Island, the seventy five mile beach, Eli creek the largest freshwater creek on the beach, Lake McKenzie, Wanggoolba Creek, the Maheno ship wreck and the coloured sands. You won’t go hungry with gourmet morning and afternoon teas, and picnic hamper lunch provided. Special dietary requirements also catered for. Pickup is 7.15am Return 5.30pm $240/$200
Unique Fraser
This is a tour picks up at the Happy Wanderer Village at 7.30am. Having a maximum of only 8 people on board your Toyota Landcruiser has the personal touch. First stop is central station with a rain forest walk, then across to the seventy five mile beach where you will drive up the beach to the champagne pools at Indian Head, calling in at Eli creek the largest freshwater creek on the beach, the Maheno ship wreck and the coloured sands. Picnic hamper lunch is provided also morning and afternoon teas. Special dietary requirements also catered for. Return 5.30pm $185/$145
Sunrover Tours
1 Day Tour picks up at the Happy Wanderer Village at 7.30AM. Having a maximum of only 8 people on board has the personal touch. It’s a bit unique as you, the guests, influence the itinerary when heading off on the days adventure, using "majority rules" vote and some professional advise from your experienced driver, you get to choose from a comprehensive list of Fraser highlights being: Central station with a rain forest walk, Lake Boomanjin, Lake Birrabeen, Dilli Village, Seventy five mile beach, Eli creek the largest freshwater creek on the Island, Maheno ship wreck, coloured sands, Orchard Beach, Corrigan Sand blow, Lake Wabby, Champagne pools, Dundubarra reserve, Lake Allom, Sandy Cape, Rooney's Point, Kingfisher Bay resort, Eurong Beach resort, Happy Valley township, Sandy cape light house and more. Accommodation is at Cathedral Beach Resort in very flash (polished timer floor, ensemble beds & power) tents, all meals provided. Upgrade to cabin accommodation is available on request. Return 5.30pm $299/$299
3 Day Tour picks up at the Happy Wanderer Village at 7.30AM, departs Tuesdays & Fridays only. Again more time than a 2 day, however having more time you get to see more. Accommodation is at Cathedral Beach Resort in Very flash (polished timer floor, ensemble beds & power) tents, all meals provided. Upgrade to cabin accommodation is available on request.
