About Hervey Bay

Hervey Bay is situated 3 hours drive or 45min flight time north of Brisbane, there are also daily flights from Sydney taking 75 min.

It has a population of 52,000 people.

It was originally made up of five small towns (Urangan, Torquay, Scarness, Pialba and Point Vernon) that were settled as holiday camps for people from Maryborough and the outlying areas. These five towns form the suburban centres for Hervey Bay, now that the place has grown to the point where the original villages have merged with each other.

The town is strung along 14 klms of sweeping, unspoilt beach. The sea is safe and without surf, being sheltered by Fraser Island.
